A Rescue Idea For Syrian Refugees From George Soros

Well, you know, I was a human being before I became a businessman.” – George Soros (via Wikiquote)

You might think that the ideas to save Syrian refugees are a dime a dozen at this point. Everyone has some plan or another about what can be done about the situation, but how many are actually able to put their ideas out to the public in a big way? Not too many. One person who is getting some attention for his ideas on the matter is billionaire George Soros.

Soros is a Wall Street Journal listed billionaire and the 16th most wealthy person on the face of the Earth. He is also a big thinker who is not afraid to get his hands dirty in terms of getting his ideas out there. If someone does not like what he has to say (and there are plenty), he isn’t bothered about that. He just wants to get his ideas out there and try to help as many people as he can.

He recently spoke with MarketWatch about some of the ideas that he has for the situation currently going on in Syria. What he had to say there was that the country could be in much better shape if the European Union (EU) will step up and make some correct moves to get things done.

The first step in the plan is for the European Union to create a safe passageway from the Middle East into Europe. That passageway would include screenings of people who are coming into Europe. Everyone seems to agree that there needs to be some screening of who is coming into and out of the countries. That is the only way to keep population in those countries feeling safe and happy about what is going on.

Secondly, Soros would like to see the EU work on providing funding to countries that border Syria. These are the countries very likely to receive the brunt of the refugees who enter the country. As such, they will require more money to take care of the influx of people who have entered their borders. If they are going to pull this off, they will need to have funding from an outside source such as the EU to handle the influx.

Finally, the private sector has a role to play in the plan that Soros has laid out for success. He believes that a lot of churches and non-profits are chomping at the bit to get involved in the situation. He would like to see less regulation on them doing this. He wants them to have every opportunity to get involved and start making a difference for the better in the crisis that is currently ongoing. He understands that they can do what governments are not able to do in this situation and make things a lot better.
