The Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber

Snoop Dogg, Shaquille O’Neal, and rapper Ludacris all turned out to give a flaming tribute to the star. Bieber, who rose to mega-stardom after record producer Scooter Braun and R&B star Usher discovered him on YouTube, has been one of the world’s most popular and most hated musical performers.

BusinessInsider reported that the “Baby” singer entered the stage for the show by being lowered from the ceiling. He was wearing white angel wings that were pinned back. Bieber, who has been criticized for having a feminine appearance and for his radically changing behavior, arrived in a blue suit and tie. He was also joined on stage by his pet monkey – Perhaps a cleverly planned pun?

Perhaps it was the public scrutiny and pressures of stardom that led the pop star to slide into a series of criminal behavior and antics.

A toxicology report, given following one of his arrests, revealed Bieber to have been under the influence of marijuana and Alprazolam at the time of his arrest.

His child-star-gone-awry antics led to the loss of fans and heavy criticism, part of which was the focus of the roast. During the roast, fellow stars and has-beens dogged on Bieber for his past relationship with Selena Gomez, his criminal behavior, and his appearance.

The Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber will air on March 30.

Reality Shows Might Be Staged

Reality television is supposed to show contestants or competitors in real life situations. Granted those situations are supposed to be high stress and entertaining, which is why the popularity of the shows has grown leaps and bounds over the past decade. However, recent developments have put a somewhat unrealistic effect on series that are supposed to be filmed with real life people dealing with real life events.

According to the New York Post, several reality shows have come under fire for tampering. One popular cooking show former contestant even revealed that it was not uncommon for ingredients to be swapped out by staff of the show, and replacing salt with sugar can have disastrous effects. The revelations are really calling all the credibility of the shows into question.

The news is not exactly ground shaking to fans like Sergio Andrade Gutierrez, because reality television is all about ratings. Strong personalities or extremely unfortunate circumstances get viewers to tune in. If a show can accomplish the lofty goals of earning viewers, then a little tampering is probably viewed by producers as a good thing. It is hard to say if the latest revelation will impact any of the shows in a negative way, but it seems likely that a statement will be coming.
